Sundogs, or the scientific name "parhelia", sometimes make it appear as though there are 3 suns in the sky due to the reflection of sunlight through ice crystals in the atmosphere. In the bottom 2 photos you can also see the full 22 degree halo around the sun. These 3 photos were taken on Dec. 21, 2000 from Des Moines, Iowa.
