A beautiful halo surrounds the sun and sun dogs fire at 22° on each side, pillar extending upwards. Atmospheric conditions were perfect for this rare optical illusion- clear skies, below zero temperatures and ice crystals floating in the atmosphere from the previous day's snowfall.
